What SideCar collects, and why

  • Account basics. Your email address and login credentials, to run your account and let you reset your password.
  • Calendar and events. The events you create or share, so SideCar can remind you and compute departure times.
  • Location. Used to calculate travel times for your departure countdowns. Granted through iOS permissions you control.
  • Gmail (optional). If you connect an email account, SideCar reads mail to find order and shipping information for your tracking list. Access is granted via Google sign-in and revocable in one tap.
  • Messages. Chats you send through SideCar are stored to deliver them to recipients.

What SideCar never does

  • No ads, ever.
  • No selling or renting your data to anyone.
  • No using your email, calendar, or location for anything except the features you asked for.

Who else touches data

SideCar runs on Google Cloud and uses Google’s routing services for travel times, Apple’s push notification service for alerts, Anthropic’s API for assistant responses, and Stripe for payments once subscriptions launch. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Leaving is easy

Disconnect any email account and SideCar stops reading it immediately. Delete your account and your data is deleted with it. Questions, or a deletion request you’d rather make by email? Write to hello@sidecarapp.ai.
